Introduction of Kangra District

kangra, HimachalWhen in Kangra, one breathes history along with the delicate fragrance of its tea gardens, the aroma of its temples and monasteries and the cool whiff coming from its snow-line. As an ancient kingdom of Himachal Pradesh with roots going back to the Mahabarata era, Kangra was part of the once powerful kingdom of Trigart.

The present Kangra District is situated between the Dhauladhar and the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas and is one of the most picturesque districts of Himachal Pradesh.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that a trip of the forts and the palaces of the district would be a rewarding experience.
