Bakrota Hills

A five kilometer popular walking circuit through Bakrota mall, Offering splendid mountain views.  Visit for a brisk walk round the hills and have a view of snow clad peaks. It is 5 km from Dalhousie.

The Bakrota Mall at a height of 2085 m in the Bakrota hills is beautiful place to walk. The Bakrota Mall offers a 5 km popular walking path around the hill, which is frequented by throngs of tourists every year. It goes round the hill and offers you a spectacular view of the snow covered mountains. The unpredictable golden sunshine that filters through the oak, pin and deodar trees is an exhilarating experience.

The fascinating and bewitching Bakrota Hills offer to the tourists the brisk walk round the hills besides a grand view of snow-clad peaks. It is one of the finest and soul refreshing places in Dalhousie. The matchless beauty of Bakrote Hills haunt you in a different way and leaves you speechless. Air : The nearest airport is at Dharamsala, a three-hour drive away and at Gaggal in Kangra. 

Rail : Nearest Railhead is at Pathankot. Appox. 95-100 km away.

Road :  Having a well connected motorable roads to other cities. Tourist taxis and buses are available for local transport as well.


Moti Tibba : The mall is around the hills Moti Tibba (formerly Tehra), Portreyn Hill and Upper Bakrota, about 330m above Gandhi Chowk. This is the most popular travel place to stroll as it runs through oak, conifer and rhododendron forests. You can see black-faced langurs (a kind of monkey) and rhesus macaques leaping from tree to tree.
