Nahan is a small, picturesque town perched on an isolated ridge at a moderate height of 3,057 feet above sea level. It was founded by Raja Karam Prakash in 1621. Nahan is a charming town which is also the headquarters of the district of Sirmaur. It has graceful houses, winding roads and several old palaces. The town has one the oldest municipalities in the country and this dates back more than a century.
