Hamirpur district, HimachalHamirpur is situated at an altitude of 785 meters. This district was carved out from the Kangra district in 1972. The history of Hamirpur is closely associated with the Katoch dynasty of Kangra.

Altitude : low like plains.

Climate : hot in summers, cold in winters.

How to reach : well connected by road to Shimla, Chandigarh and other areas of Himachal.

Places of interest : Nadaun, the erstwhile capital of the Katoch kings, 28 kms from Hamirpur. Nadaun an ideal spot for angling. Kangra in the neighborhood and hence all attractions of Kangra; Sainik School, Sujanpur-Tira, Mahal village and the fortress called Mahal.
