Tiun and Sriun Forts

The twin forts of Tiun and Sriun are towards Ghumarwin side. Located on two mountain ranges, facing each other, the forts have strong ramparts and the towers still stand intact. Sriun fort is spread across the knoll and is approachable via Harlog.

Location: Driving from Bilaspur side, you cross Kandror bridge and 10 km short of Ghumarwin take the road to Harlog from Ghumani chowk. About 3 km from Harlog lies the village Tiun, an isolated and desolate spot. A 20 minutes walk uphill through difficult goat path strewn with boulders, bushes and brambles, takes you to the fort.

A trek can be planned starting from Shimla by road. En route, plan to climb up to Bahadurpur, Ratanpur, Malaun, Chamba, Mundkhar and Satgarh fort? These forts are partly in ruins but they still have some good carvings, idols and other artifacts as in Ratanpur fort where there are several artistic items.
