Surrounded by low to medium hill ranges, fed by the mighty Satluj and beautified by Lake Govind Sagar, Bilaspur has seven forts, which are, in fact, small watch-towers on hill tops and can be interesting and challenging trekking areas. Bilaspur  falls on the main highway between Chandigarh and Mandi or between Shimla and Mandi. Bilaspur touches Una, Hamirpur, Mandi and Solan districts. Satluj is the main river which passes through the middle of the district and divides it into almost equal parts
