- Keep all the fishing equipment in a kit. Do carry landing net and guff along with the kit.
- Keep your spoon always polished as the fish generally gets attracted to bright surfaces.
- While carrying the rod in the stretched form, never keep the top of the rod in front because it is not safe; instead butt-end be kept up front.
- On seeing Trout nearby, try and make the fly alight on the stream from the river bank foliage to cast an impression that it has fallen naturally. This increases the chances of hooking the fish and making a catch.
- Any spot dominated by small fly and fingerlings is a good fishing spot. The waters trapped among submerged rocks, rapids, pools, eddies, white waters and deep pools are generally considered ideal angling territory. Trout gulps the fly as it touches the waters and one should be prepared to act on the rod and line immediately once the fish gets hooked.
- Fish against the sun, avoid shadows falling in the water. The shadow of an angler would obviously scare the fish.
The Forest Deptt. may be approached for taking river stretches on lease for protection by NGO's PRI's and private parties on community based system (Eco Tourism basis).
